Chrismas but I was very happy driving my son home from school listening to him explain Hanukkah to me.

We are having a fun happy season together.

Aluminum pole, feats of strength and the public airing of grievences.

You know, just a basic traditional festivus.

I'm a winter solstice guy because I'm sure that's where most of these holidays are rooted, so I would like to wish everyone a "Happy Solstice".

BTW: Interdenominational Solstice events are welcomed.

"Christmas as a secular holiday"? Oy.

Merry Christmas ("Happy", for the islanders), Happy Channukah, Festive Festivus, and everything that Floats Your Boat (safely)! 😀

Season’s Greetings

"Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an
environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive,
gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within
the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or
secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular
persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice
religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally
successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of
the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due
respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to
society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is
necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the
Western Hemisphere. And without regard to the race, creed, color, age,
physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. By
accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms. This greeting is
subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no
alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to
actually implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is
void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the
wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual
application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of
a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited
to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion
of the wisher."

If you're Dow Jones & Co., you annoy the hell out of your employees by announcing that for the 99th straight year, there will be no Christmas party and the money instead will be given to some anonymous charity.

We celebrate Christmas and sort of Hannukah when my daughter's friends visit. That's cool. I like my daughter to have an understanding of other religions.

I don't celebrate made-up b.s. holidays. At least Christmas has some basis in reality.

I celebrate several weeks of Christmas as a secular holiday 🙁 followed by two days of Christmas as a religious holiday  followed by two or three months of Festivus "feats of strength and the public airing of grievences" once the credit card bills come in. :bang: Giddy-up!

Yeah, the bills come in, but do you have to pay them?

Sol invictus - for us photographers the rebirth of the sun is a big moment in our year. And we should be properly mindful that the sun means life on earth and food to eat.

Christmas - the birth of our Savior. The real big one is Easter when he died for us so that we may live.

Tounge in cheek question - is there an unlimited supply of film in Heaven? 😎

Holiday

Time does not extend with time,
It passes as we watch it pass.
And so our best behaviour calls
For looking forward, not behind
To times gone past. On holiday,
We make each moment count
By counting nothing for a time;
Letting moments, hours, days go by
While we enjoy each other's company.
We smile and tell a bedtime story,
Sing a playful song or two,
Do something silly if we wish,
And call it all a holiday.
