I saw that prices fron HK ebay sellers are very low on the CV lenses like the Nokton f1.1

Did you ever buy something from HK? Is there any seller that you trust?

Thanks,
Rob.

From my own experience, I bought one from HK, i believe it was bestcameraseller at the "bay", not bad considering it was about $200 less then what i could find in the states (and had free shipping 🙂 4 days to vancouver!)

but once again, your own discretion, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, and when your ready to buy ASK all your questions. And remember if the deal is too good to be true, then it probably isn't real.

I bought my Nokton 35/1.4 from Thailand. Great transaction.

Depends on which seller. Some great dealers in HK. Just check the feedback. That being said, return or fix might be difficult.

Prices are very different in Asia.

One foreign eBay seller with whom I've dealt is perfectly honest and reputable. His store is: Matsuiya International Co. I think it is a Japanese company. Check it out.

Hong Kong sellers are generally honest, but I've only bought rather cheap accessories from them, not a lens or camera.

When I was in Hong Kong last year, I noticed that the store prices on C/V lenses were higher than in those in NYC and the Hong Kong retailers were not too friendly. Just my personal observation.

bestcameraseller on eBay is a company called nine days photography and is a somewhat unpredictable seller. Sometimes they suddenly ship something out that really isn't anywhere close to the online description.

maybe this guy cleaned up his act since I read read about him, that's about a year ago.

All of the Hong Kong and Chinese eBay sellers I've seen are grossly overcharging for their items. Many charge double or more just for shipping. One seller wanted to charge me $48 shipping on a filter. I didn't buy...

While some offer free shipping it usually takes far too long to ship (just to drop it off at the post office) and their prices are more than most US based shops..

Thanks a lot!
I'll take a look to Matsuiya and friends.. 🙂

I also did several transactions with Khun Mana of AV Camera in Bangrak, BKK, Thailand. Great deals and good service.

I have had good luck with Hong Kong and Thailand sellers. Costs were low (much lower than Japan, which is higher than America, go figure), and free shipping. One item I ordered never arrived, but I had no trouble getting a refund.
