I have uncoated chrome copy op pre-war 50/2.8 collapsible Tessar. lens is good, but flarey. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about which hood will fit it.

42mm slip on. The pre-WWII Zeiss Ikon version I have is black-painted brass & marked "A42" along the outside rim. I don't remember the model designation. IIRC, the same hood can be used on a Super Ikonta B or BX. The post-WWII version, model A1115, is a silver colored alloy (aluminum?), but is much bigger.

...or you get a much smaller hood that can fit inside the aperture ring. It works and is tidy

Yes, that is an option that I forgot, but I'm not sure how common those hoods are. I have an old 1 made by "Enteco" that came w/the 5cm/2.8 Tessar on a Nettax (same lens as the Contax version), but have never seen another on eBay. Do you know of a modern source?

If I can find it I will measure it but I have been selling Zeiss stuff and I fear the only one I have left is for a nickel and black 3.5 Tessar

I wonder if it has the same filter size.

My pre war Tessar 2,8 5 cm has a 40,5 filter twist. Cleaning that old glas made wounders. Tessars are user friendly.
