I love the Sonnar 50/1.5... I love its sofa; I love the size (and I can't find anything smaller) ... but what I don't like is the long focusing throw of the lens+adapter combo...
A focusing tab should help ... so I bought a $2 hose clamp and clamped it onto the lens
Although not much to look at, focusing is now quicker and by placing the "tab" on the other side, I now know which way to turn ... Here're some pics from the "enhanced" 50/1.5

Nice pics. I see why you like it.
You might try a tie wrap instead, a big heavy duty one. To me the worm gear box is too big.
Put some tape under the clamp if you care about maring the lens.

not very elegant, but effective. I have done something similar, using the base of a clamp-on lens hood that accepts screw in filter holders and lens hoods. Looks kinda goofy, but works.

Regit,
Very creative, and gives the lens a decidedly militant look. I'd be afraid to confront that lens in a dark alley
As for the photos, the photographer and the optics continue to impress, as usual. Great shots.
