"Hot shoe?"

Anyone have success using a flash with the R-D1? I tried an auto flash with a standard hot shoe foot, and it would not fire. I tried the same flash on other cameras, no problemo!

Just tried my "pocket" flash - a cheap, no-name brand - worked fine.

i just tried a Leica SF-20, and it seems to work fine...

Metz 34 works fine on its own. Used an olympus one with a Wein adapter and that worked fine too.

My 550EX worked fine using it both on camera and off camera with a canon off-shoe chord.

No problem with the Nikon SB-20 either.

Ok it was the old flash. I tried a 430ex tonight and it fired.
