"Hotter N Hell" Ride

I hope the title of this does not offend anyone here, but this is the name of a bike ride in Wichita Falls, Tx. I wonder if any of the camera-toting bike riders in the southwest plan to participate. I hope to. This year it is August 27th. Maybe we could meet before the ride begins. Any takers?

I was trying to do that ride in 1994. I figured since I live in Central FL that I could deal with the heat. But schedules changed and I couldn't make the trip.

That year, 1994, was the last fatality. A 49 year old who had a heart attack. Back in 1994, I was ... 49. I never considered doing that ride after that.

I have done a century on the 4th of July in FL. And I've done a 170 mile ride in May in FL when the temps were in the high 80's. But those are not fun any more.

I can't make that one but I will be doing the "Cool Breeze Century" next weekend up in Ventura, CA... hopefully it will only be in the mid seventies for the ride...
I'll be 47 at the end of this month and from what I've heard my High School is having a joint 30 year (multi-class) reunion this weekend...
