When I bought my 1st rangefinder, a Yashica GSN off a guy in Canada through eBay. When we were communicating over the sale he recommended RFF.
I am still in regular contact with him and often ask his advice when buying other cameras. He steered me towards screwmount Leicas which are now my favourite camera ... I have numerous examples now ranging from a 1930 1a to a IIIg.
Hung around P.Net for a while but got sick of the bitchiness ... this forum rocks!
It was actually recommended to me from somebody on the LUG as a place with classifieds that I might be able to find a LTM-M adapter. Made the (sic) mistake of reading a few forum posts, and I've been hooked ever since. Great place to be.
I had just tried a friend's Bessa for the first time and was googling for more information, bought one for myself and registered here soon after that. 🙂
Jorge,
I remember some of the first posts on p-net about the new forum, IIRC you were flamed for the idea! Typically (for me) I lurked for quite a while, then joined up.
I had decided I wanted an RF before I discovered RFF, so I can't blame the site for that initial acquisition (a Yashica Electro 35 GTN) While googling it I came across RFF and liked the place enough to stay 🙂
Francisco posted a thread about RFF on Pop Photo's forums about 11 minutes after Jorge flipped the switch I think. I checked it out, then the next day logged on after seeing a second message from Francisco, I think at Pnet.
Roger Hicks's column in UK's Amateur Photographer.
A forum of friendly, intelligent polite and photographically knowledgeable people, but I am very worried about how addictive it can be....
