How do you carry your EDCC (Every Day Carry Camera)?

Hi, All,

(I hope this does not turn into yet another Dreaded Bag Thread!) .... 😱

However, I see folks mention this or that camera has become their everyday/ everywhere camera.

So...how do y'all generally tote your EDCC? ...are you strappin' or pocketing or in a holster or in your shoe or what?

It's just that, try as I may, my X100 makes my business casual slacks look kinda puffy in all the wrong places.

To carry my camera, I first put my thumb on the back of the camera, and then wrap my fingers around the right-hand side. It's important to use your finger muscles to apply pressure, or else the camera will fall right out of your hand.

Okay, sorry for being a smartass. But in all seriousness, cameras in bags don't make many photographs.

X100 is not my edcc.... But if it was, it would be thrown into my messenger bag that I use for my laptop... The Timbuktu

Last winter I had a rangefinder with collapsible lens in my coat pocket. This summer, I've been carrying the camera in a Grafea bag mostly, to protect it from the rain. The few days with sunshine, I carried it with a ordinary strap.
 
The little Domke F5-XB is very good for carrying anything from the OM-D up to the D700.

I know this isn't a bag thread (god bless Joe) but that Domke is a seriously useful well made little carry all.
 
On weekdays, I usually carry my camera in Timbuk2 camera insert that's in Acronym 3A-8TS messenger bag. The bag has PAL/MOLLE compatible webbings and I have a Maxpedition holder attached to it for my XA.

When I'm riding motorcycle, I usually have either Domke or Timbuk2 camera insert in Kreiga backpack.

Long strap, slung across the chest, with the camera just falling down by my side, ready to be drawn to my eye as opportunities arise. That's my M anyway, more compact cameras will either find themself in my jacket pocket, ready to be drawn out quickly when needed, or else in my hand as I walk, with a rest strap to ensure it doesn't slip from my hand. These are the two ways that work for me, to have my camera ready for when opportunity strikes.
 
The Kinesis waist bag. It's my one camera and lens tote all. Have done countless hikes with it including 12-13 multi day trips. Unfortunately it was carrying my M6ttl across Six Mile Creel in NZ a couple of summers ago when I went under destroying the cameras metering system. But I blame me and not the bag. Have never found anything better to replace it.
 
I got used to turning everything into a trip with an Incase slingpack with 2 Konica SLRs and a few lenses in, although out and about one would always be around my neck.

Just recently though I've decided to stop putting that additional pressure on 24/7 and have been stuffing an ME Super with 50mm and a 2x converter into my jacket pockets on the way out of the house, it's small enough not to be a pain, and capable enough that I don't wish I'd taken something else instead.

when I'm actually out with it, I have a small loop through one strap lug which fits over my middle finger (like half of the leicagoodies sling) so that my camera is always in my hand and ready to shoot (I only do this with the ME Super because it's so small and light).

I find that if I'm spending time fannying about with getting the camera out of pockets, and taking lenscaps off, it really breaks my flow, so to me having it in hand means I can shoot, and keep on strolling, and of course if I'm going into a store, or need both hands I can always put it in a pocket
