I'm a member of a club that has an Imacon flextight. It gets the job done, and done good, but takes ages. I still haven't done any 4x5"s in it yet though. A 6x9 at high resolution takes about 25 minutes....
How do you guys scan your 4x5 to show them here?

I have an 8800f as well, bought before I shot 4x5. I just make contact prints using two pieces of glass, a 4-watt night light bulb and a little rough cardboard frame to give a nice black border around the image, then I scan the print.

I use an old Epson 2450 - one of these days I might upgrade but it's fine for my needs including outputting to high quality 13x19 prints
This model has carriers for 35 (never use) 6x6/6x7 (which I use) and 4x5

Yep, I use a V500. I make two passes. The first with the top 3/4's of the negative in the scan area, the second with the bottom 3/4's in the scan area. Then I use PS to stitch them and they come out beautifully!
I also put the negative right on the glass...has seemed to work for me so far!

It can do 4x5, so, Slide, B&W, Negative... shouldn't matter.

I have a V700. I wish it had autofocus, but it doesn't. One thing that I would recommend is to get a betterscanning.com mounting station and tape the neg flat... works great.
If someone made a sub-$1000 scanner with autofocus that could do up to 8x10, that would be AWESOME.

I bought an Epson 4870 a few years ago intending to use it for large format. I haven't tried the 4x5 holder yet. The scanner is great with 35mm and 120 (I use the latest Epson Scan software for MacOS 10.x and Aperture 3.1.2) so I'm not expecting any problems when I do start shooting LF.
