How do you remedy your GAS??

After moving to RF from SLR(Canon), I find that I have GAS like most of you here.
I can swear to god (even tho I am an atheist) that I didn't have GAS when I was with Canon, it is only after my move to this, I picked up GAS.
While I am 100% sure that I already have all the gears I need to take my pictures, (RD-1 + 21 C Biogon + Noctilux f1).
I somehow am still wanting more, like:
Super Angulon 21/3.4, German made Summilux 35 pre asph, Leica MP chrome w/ leather, Leica MP Classic, Leica CL Titanium, macro-Elmar 90.

What's up with me? Those equipments are nice, but probably not that much nicer than what I already have for make good pictures.

How do I get rid of my GAS?
Or how do you take care of your GAS?

Good advices are seriously appreciated.
(ie. just-buy-it advice doesn't count)

Easy - just buy whatever you want, - life is short, so just go for it that way you will have no regrets. And if you need/want/have to - sell it later as most things keep their price/value in RF world.

BUT, since you are here, I'll add my two cents:
1) you need to shoot film, too, so you need a film body.
2) you need a normal lens, probably a 35 works best between your R-D1 and your new film RF.

Could you elaborate 1) please?
If I do commit to 1) that would mean I will look for an MP of some sort, then a German made Summilux 35 pre asph.
If the MP of some sort happens to be an MP Classic, then I will probably want a Super Angulon too.
Now that because I have a Leica body, the macro tube from macro-Elmar 90 will work, so I will probably want the macro Elmar 90 too.

Nonetheless, I think stop reading RFF is a good advice

Notin wrong with shootin great gears. RD-1 + 21 C Biogon + Noctilux f1 is but a starter kit. Fill the gap with an M7 or MP (black paint) and 35mm Summilux ASPH. Youre off to a great start tho.

If you keep worrying about buying new toys then you're not out shooting enough. And no, you don't *need* to shoot film. I'd suggest that if you can't get the images you want from an RD-1 then the problem's not the camera. 🙂

Seriously, to remify GAS will take a psycho-therapist. By the time you pay that bill you might as well have picked up the gears.

As a recovering GAS-aholic, I'd like to point out the difficulty of mastering even one camera/lens/film combination and getting the images you want.
Equipment can be attractive, and when everyone is talking about this lens, or that body you feel like you have to have it and we know where this leads.
I'd suggest a project that some others committed to on RFF, one body , one lens, one year, or some variation. When you have too many choices, you are the servant of the equipment and not the master. Many of us have day jobs, and the amount of time we can spend taking pictures is limited.
Basically the problem with GAS, however attractive it seems at the moment, is that most of the equipment sits unused most of the time.

I'm with Rubymonkey on this . Shoot more and enjoy shooting. Hopefully you'll find out with use which lenses work for you. You don't have to keep the ones that don't and that way it is easier to justify any GAS tendencies.

Once you get a decent kit in hand, sell something every time you buy something.
I break that rule once in awhile. Even so, it's enough of a habit that I have to think, "What will I let go to buy that other thing?"

Slows you down and makes you less of a collector.

I partially cured my worst GAS-symptoms by committing myself to one body, one lens, one film and one developer scheme for 3 months. Thinking back now, I was happy with my results and I did learn a lot. Since then I only have acquired one lense and one body totalling around 300$.

While it is recommended by some to go to the bathroom, other have just remedied their gas problems by .... OOOPS! You meant GAS and not just gas!!!!

Well, when the money gets tight and when the spouse gets really annoyed, it becomes natural to buy less and to take more photos.
