How does this image make you feel, do you like it, love it or hate it?

probably unbalanced because there are too many 5's on the right and 4's on the left. not sure really. could be due to the power lines in the background. god they are the bane of photography...

Look at all the conflicting opinions here... just goes to show you that there is no one right (or wrong) way to make an image.

What interests me is how this composition is an exception to the advise: If your photos aren't interesting enough, you're not close enough.

First, I agree the B+W is a completely different photo. I actually like both, but that's not what the OP asked.

I like the color photo. I like the busy-ness of it, including the distracting poles, wires, flag, etc, and that's the strongest element of the composition. And that also works on the cognitive level, since the implication is that it's a confusing conglomeration of signs. The framing is the weakest element, because of the cutoff signs at the bottom. Looks like it was taken with a rangefinder camera. (That's not a slam, but as we know, parallax is the achilles heel of RFs.)

There's my rupees worth. (1 Rupee = $0.02)

And I'm glad you posted it for critique. I like these exercises.

It is a fairly common image where I live. One drives by those signs everywhere. It needs something else to complete the statement. That is why you are having discomfort with it.

I like it, because I believe its meaning could be different to different people. To me, it asks a questions like "Which way should I go? What will I find if I go left instead of straight? Will going to the right make all the difference?"

I don't like the power pole and lines, but I like the flag and building.

I suppose the Maker saw something interesting here, but I don't think the concept was realized very well, and the shot does nothing for me either.
Badly cropped at the bottom, with too much depth of field so that what little is seen of the background elements is not adding to the story, but merely distracting.
I would have preferred a different point of view, perhaps further back so that the background elements were better shown, or at the very least, another shot from the same vantage point, but framed better, and with shallow enough Depth of Field to clean up the background.

This may be a ridiculous post but... I cant decide for myself... I like it, yet it aggravates me at the same time and I have no clue why.
How does it make you feel?

I always hate it when I come across something like that when I'm driving and texting at the same time - almost too much to handle :)
