Here's how I would have ended it... they all get wacked, every last stinkin' one of them. Then you hear the sound of a cell phone - a "We're in the Money" midi...

... Cut to Bobby Ewing, played by Patrick Duffy, in bed waking up groggy, answers his cell phone.

... on the other end you hear the tinny voice of Larry Hagman, Bobby tells him he had an incredible dream, and says "No, I didn't hear anything about an evacuation. I can't just leave right now."

In the background, a loud screeeching is heard, and what vaguely sounds like sleigh bells. Bobby Ewing runs to the window and is "shocked and awed" to see Gamera, giant flying radio-active fire breathing space turtle/"friend to all children" in the sky.

Gamera lands on the front lawn of Bobby Ewing's estate. Bobby Ewing is frozen with terror, but manages to get his Konica Auto S3 off his dresser near the window, as Gamera approaches. Bobby Ewing focuses and snaps a picture, drops his camera and lets out a blood curdling scream as Gamera approaches and destroys the Ewing mansion, killing Bobby.

The End

And Gamera wouldn't destroy the camera and film?

Anyway, the ending was a real surprise, but I after reflecting I think it is perfect as "executed". Feature film, anyone?

Sadly, yes, Gamera crushes a vintage Japanese fixed lens RF - and a pretty damned good one. Damn that giant flying radioactive fire-breathing space turtle and "friend to all children"(tm), Gamera.

Hey Nick...you and Gamera got some history we need to know about...???

Don't go startin' any rumors on the Internets now (though this is a rather lonely terrapin, who post on my MySpace account at times...)

ROFL!

And he speaks into the cell phone and says "... no, he was a PSYCHOLOGIST and he STAMMERS!" :) :)

I think Tony realizes that he has made all the money he can in the construction , garbage bussiness and decides that the real money is in ether Wedding Photography or he decides to become a Leica dealer.

I enjoyed the ending. It's been a blast watching that show over the years.

Hey, at least AJ and Christopher end up doing something related to exposing film!

:)

No spoilers about what happened, please. Those of us not in the US haven't had a chance to see the last series yet :)

I guess I have a hard time getting more worked up about this than, say, the MASH ending. A) this is just TV - absolutely nothing worth caring about tomorrow and B) No big deal as a story writers perogitive.

Want a mess? Go watch Rashomon or B5. Want something controlled? Watch Star Trek or most American TV. Want reality? Turn the bleaking thing off and go burn film...

No one is going to give a rat's butt about tony soprano 10 years from now. Sometimes it really is that simple...

Watch it again and see how you see it then...<--------"...that make sense???"

William...Very true...it's just entertainment...and sometime not even that...

Haha....I don't get it....
Because he looks like Bob Newhart?

Not really, I just thought that ending the 1980's Newhart with Bob waking up next to his wife in the 1970's series was probably the funniest series ending ever. it was even better than the Dallas "Bobby wakes up and the last season was a dream" thing.

Plus, I don't want to give away the actual ending of the Soprano's to those who haven't seen it yet. And if I stated my opinion on what I think the actual ending meant, it would spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.

For some reason I think my reference to this ending (above) just zoomed over everyone's head. :)

So did you know ''Don't Stop Believin''' was going be in the episode?

Excerpt: "Journey's former vocalist Steve Perry says he needed to know how ''Don't Stop Believin''' would be used before he approved it for ''The Sopranos'' finale, but that in the end he thinks it was the perfect choice."
