How Important Is Anything?

Ah, I always wondered ... why do these loudmouths crop-up at times like this? lots of typing, but just the one opinion and never any photographs ... why do they never have any photos?

My photos are my photos.

I share them every once in a while on Facebook.

Then I delete them.

The only person I learned from with his reviews was my coach and mentor. He is not around anymore.

My choice.

Turn down the volume on your computer Stewart!

I was talking about the late Hunter S Thompson Bill, not you ... sorry I didn't make it clear ... 'irony' eh?

To quote Neil Peart's lyrics from the Rush album "Presto":

"I am made from the dust of the stars
And the oceans flow through my veins"

IMO, we would all do well to come to terms with how insignificant we are in the great cosmos of it all and what a random scientific fluke it is that we exist at all. It's quite a humbling experience to realise how utterly minuscule Earth is (let alone the human race) compared to the totality of what's out there - unless, of course, you're one of those who believes the Earth is only about 6,000 years old.

Thanks Stewart.

At least you know why I don't post photos.

No biggee.

Especially in comparison to the cosmos!

My daughter lives close to JPL and one of the children who is in the same class as her daughter (my grand daughter), her father works at JPL. He is on the team for the Curiosity Rover on Mars and he would get up and go to bed the same time as sunrise and sunset on Mars. Some day when my wife and I are visiting her in L. A. I'm going to take a tour of JPL.

Stewart I meant more from the philosophical standpoint that the universe is meaningless without a conscious observer. Without an observer it may as well not exist.

And, I am sure (although there is no way to prove it) that consciousness is found widely amongst living things - so I am not promoting an anthropocentric viewpoint.
