How Important Is Anything?

It's interesting that we keep building bigger and bigger telescopes so we can crop in on smaller and smaller parts of the universe, hoping to define it. We will never get to see "the universe" as it really is. There is no "beyond the universe" to stand and point our cameras back at it.

I think I've had too much coffee today.
 
Stewart I meant more from the philosophical standpoint that the universe is meaningless without a conscious observer. Without an observer it may as well not exist.

And, I am sure (although there is no way to prove it) that consciousness is found widely amongst living things - so I am not promoting an anthropocentric viewpoint.

Yes I assumed that was your view ... I was simply pointing that your conscious observer requires the validation of another observer to hold true ... and from there it's giant tortoises all the way down 🙂
