I have here a bottle of TMaxDev in 1+4 dilution.
The solution looks clear and colorless.
Mixed in april, I think. Only one roll is gone through.
Are there visual indications for the death of this developer?

Tmax Dev isn't a one shot developer? When I used it, I allways mix for using in the moment. You can use a bit of the leader of the film and drop in the solution and see if goes all black(developed)!

Tried a test strip and the solution seems almost dead.

Found also a notice about shelf-life-time of the working solution - 6 month.

I always use TMax Developer as a one-shot developer (1:4, 1:7, 1:9) and only mix what I'm about to use. The full strength solution is kept at 50 degrees in a brown bottle w/o oxygen.

Wow. Mixed results here. I mix 1/2 a gallon of 1:4 and have used it over a 4 month period the last time. In fact a sample for you. I mixed a 1/2 gallon in May Developed 10 rolls with it. It then sat until late june I did 2 more. Then it sat until Sept 25 and I've done 4 rolls. This is from the last batch. I learned to use this developer by an old family friend in Seattle who taught me to experiment with Manufacturers labeling.

Tmax 1:4 I've learned to keep close tabs on how many rolls I've developed (whether 135 or 120 count the same). With my half gallon I do the first 10 normal times. The next 10 adding a 30 seconds per roll until I reach 20 rolls and then dispose. It could probably be used longer by increasing time more but, I worry about other contamination (sometimes I'll stretch it). No, it's not scientific but has become reliable. Put a piece of tape on the bottle and right to keep the roll count and timeline in order. It ends up being a remarkably inexpensive developer. YMMV but not much.
Here is a shot from the what was roll 18. Grain is still fine. Tones are even.

1+4 as one-shot is a bit expensive for my taste... 🙂
I have used 1+9 as one-shot

I do this. But 6 month in a clear plastic bottle and summer temperatures was possibly a bit too much.

Looks good to me.
What lens is it? The OOF-areas looks a bit like Canon 50/1.4...

I've used Tmax Dev for almost a month at a side job I have. I think it's pretty stable considering the conditions they keep it in, despite my pleas for proper storage.
