Boy I'm glad I was out there this morning freezing my behind taking picture of ice covered branches Wednesday's snow storm left behind. Put me at the top of the list!

What does freezing mean? What is that word snow? I've heard it somewhere.

Forty-five minutes ago. We had a situation where melting snow froze over all the trees and signs and basically everything. There was a nice back-lit willow tree encased in ice and glittering in the sun. Had my Fed 1g, Jupiter 12 and Zeiss yellow-green filter. Now if only the flare isn't too bad from shooting into the sun, I may have something. On the other hand, this is a lens know for flare.......

Again, I have to say that the results here are impressive. 89% within the last week.
We may be a bunch of gearheads, but we're still burning film (electrons).

Josef Koudelka says you should shoot at least a roll a day, ever day.
What top musician doesn't play every day?
Artists don't practice ,they sketch, sometimes it becomes art, sometimes not .........................

I get my spells...

I get my spells...

Before it stayed below 25 degrees as a norm, I would bring my camera with me to work. (I do route work). So now I leave it home. But on warmer days, it goes with me. Just trying to avoid that nasty condensation factor.

But I get my spells where I get a subject I want photograph, and shoot a roll or two. But it takes a week or so. I don't BURN through 2-3 rolls anymore. (Been there-Done That when I young and had Film to Burn and I did my own developing too, in a 3 reel tank)

More selective now, I guess that is what time does to you. Plus, hopefully, my "EYE" has a mature look on life. So I don't "waste" as much. But I still waste frames  , Oh well, always learning something anyway.

As an average, I guess around 1-3 days and 4-10 frames.

Shooting this morning- COLD!!!- but got out with the new (to me) .58 M7 and the 35/2.0. Absolutely exactly what I was hoping from that viewfinder- I'm able to work with the wider lens in the same way I work with the 50 on the .72- so I had great fun. Shooting in the biggest nearby town, a good long walk, and a nice visit with a friend at his office to warm up and load cameras- I usually park at the bottom of the hill, walk around, then take my break at his office (on top of the hill) and then get another hour or so in shooting.

I last shot yesterday morning, out with the XPAN2 and then before that it was a short bit of shooting Tuesday before classes, but nothing much there, I really just wanted to get out in the sun after sitting in the office all morning. Before that, Sunday morning, the first try of the .58. This is about average for me these days, thrice or four times a week, and if the weather is less cooperative more time in the darkroom.

Shot 2.75 rolls of Agfa Ultra 100 today, .25 on tuesday and 3.0 on Sunday, about .5 of a roll that Adox CMS 20 with the Xpan (I'm trying it for the first time)

One hour-forty-five minutes ago, I used a Bessa-R with a 90mm Elmar Leica lens. It was of some Daffodils in my front yard. Are the Daffodils out in Wales yet? Today, I noticed that someone from Wales is on this site. (Daffodil: National Flower of Wales.)

An hour ago. Shot a couple of frames of B/W film. The subject was my Zorki 4 on a tripod. Tried a few tricks on lighting and background choices.

It's been almost a week now for me, but that's not so bad by my standards. However, I just might take a few in the next hour or so; Schipol airport is a busy place, and maybe I'll find something interesting!

I took a few shots on the way home from work last night. The front end loaders carrying away the snow from the downtown sidewalks/parking lots.
I think I got a couple of good ones.

well let's see them Rob:)
Next week, if they are any good. The one thing that irks me a little about film is the delay between shooting and getting the results. But, one thing I do like about film is the anticipation between shooting and getting the results...(yeah, we are a little schizophrenic:D )

:D i feel exactly the same, Rob. This double sided story is one of the strongest argument for me not to "go digital"

I am thinking about souping my own--several advantages there. The most significant is film choice. But my difficulty with that isn't room, precisely, but time. Specifically that I live in a boarding house which means I share a bathroom and the other people wouldn't appreciate me tying up the bathroom for15 or 20 minutes washing film. Add to that the cost of a scanner. And a major computer up grade...not gonna happen anytime soon, I think.
A daylight tank and I could process at work except that I may be changing jobs at the end of March...
C-41 and mini lab scan are still the better choice for me.:bang:
