Well, I need to change my count. I have 5 for RF, 2 for SLR (and one 50 f/2.8 tessar w/ issues sitting on an exakta for display)

Elmar f/3.5 LTM (uncoated)
Collapsible Summicron LTM

Collapsible Summicron M
Summilux (V3) M

ZM Sonnar f/1.5 M

SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 M42
Pentax M-50mm f/1.4

(and a "almost 50" pentax FA 43mm f/1.9 )

Precisely none. To me, a 50 manages to be both too long and too short. But your mileage may vary. And thank you all for taking a little price pressure off the market for 35s and 90s! ;-)

1x 50 F/1.4 AF for Nikon F6 and digital(*)
1x 50 F/1.8 AIS for Nikon FM3A

(*) had it, I'll get another soon.

Currently only 2 (concerning LTM or M), though I've owned a couple more.

Canon 50 f1.4
Nikkor-SC 50mm f1.4

Keep talking myself out of the Nokton 50mm f1.1

On other systems (Canon EOS mount):
Canon 50m f1.4
Minolta-Rokkor 58mm f1.2

No need to tell abt SLR lenses I think.
RF are as follows

Carl Zeiss Sonnar 50 1.5

Leica
Elmar 3.5 LTM
Summicron collaps.
Summicron rigid
Summitar LTM
Summarit LTM

Canon 50 1.2 LTM

Jupiter 8 2.0 LTM

Well, my stable of 50s just keeps growing.
Adding two this week (thanks to Brian), bringing me to:

50/2 Zeiss Planar
50/2 Rigid Summicron
50/1.5 Jupiter-3
50/2 Nikkor ltm rigid
50/3.5 Industar-50 collapsible

Funny thing is, I do not own duplicate lenses in any other FL. I have one 28, 35 and 75. Then the five 50s.

Two LTM Industar-50s on the Zorki they came with - one was my grandfather's, back when he was a journalist in the '60s.
I'd count the Industar 61-L/N 55mm as a 50mm, so that's another one.

For SLRs:
Canon FD f/1.8
Canon EF f/1.8
Zeiss Jena Tessar f/2.8 in M42
Zeiss Jena Pancolar f/1.8 in M42 (probably the sharpest 50mm I own - incredible lens)
Pentax SMC Takumar f/1.4 in M42

Now I only need a fastish 50mm for my rangefinder.

Well, I had good intentions, and I didn't really think I was a 50 fan, but... I just ordered two more.

A matched pair of nickel Heliars from CameraQuest; one f/2 and one f/3.5

The worst part is I already have a black 50/2.0 Heliar Classic... same glass but collapsible and M-mount... and it's a keeper. I am curious to see how the 50/3.5 performs, given the good reviews.

have a few. does the 55 count as a 50?

50/1.8 m39 w/ a m-mount converter. (on a FED2B, that has a wide rf/vf base)

50/1.2 m39 (on a CL)

50/1.8 e series pancake f mount. (in the bag for F3)

50/1.8 af f-mount (for DSLR)

55/1.8 m42 (for zenit/ mamiya/ etc)

Hi Doug,
I have both Heliars as classical and not the Nickel. I compared them to over twenty other 50mm RF lenses, and both did very well.

I have these:

Canon 50/1.8 in LTM
Super Takumar 50/1.4 in M42
SMC Takumar 50/2.0 in M mount for Pentax MX
Super Takumar 55/1.8 in M42

All of these lenses are quite good. I'd be hard pressed to discern which is the better lens, but if forced to decide on threat of torture I'd opt for the Super Takumar 50/1.4.

I'm holding my head in shame here. My LTM list exploded.

- Industar 61 L/D
- Summarit 1.5 ...beat up but interesting look, picked up with a Leica body, don't use it enough, need to sell it.
- Jupiter 8 ...picked up on good reputation, pure duplication with the Industar 61 from a functional standpoint. I'll probably sell the 61 at some point as I always seem to grab the J8 instead.
- Collapsible Industar 50 ...wanted something more compact. The lens worked well enough but I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with the look of the lens. Need to shoot a bit more with it before I'll be sure.
- Summar ...picked up with a Leica body, still shooting a first roll with it.
- Elmar 3.5f ...good deal, curious how it compares to the I50. I'll only hold on to one. May not hold on to either if I like the Summar wide open. Hard to pass up at the asking price as it was below street value.

In the end, I'll probably end up with a general 50mm, a character one and a small one that that is a compromises to trade for size. Maybe one cheap one.

Thanks, Raid! I'm glad there are other reasonable people with both Heliars! :D I think you and Brian are far ahead of me on the 50 front. Makes me feel more modest. Besides the other Heliar Classic these new two join a Skopar, Planar, and Sonnar.

Ted, there's some great Takumars! Wouldn't that f/2 be a "K mount"?

I suggest that if you sell your black Heliar, sell it at RFF. Someone will buy it.

I really enjoy using my 50mm lenses more than any other focal length. The CZJ 5cm 1.5 is my favorite lens.

oh! Gosh...
