How many 50's is enough?

Well, now I have a J-8, an elmar-m in the shop, and a summicron ltm on the way. Oh, I picked up a fed 50 (why not?) That's not so many.

Wait ... we're counting normals that are not exactly 50mm? And we're counting fixed-lens samples too, right?

So there's 2x 42/1.7 on the Oly SPs, the 40 on the RC, the 48 on the Minolta 7s, the 42 (I think) on the Olympus Electro Eye (or whatever it's called ... it's in pieces right now) ... does the 38mm on the Konica C35 count? Nah. And certainly not the 35mm on the XAs ... but Joe's counting 35s, so ...

Ooops, forgot the Steinheil 50/2.8 Steinheil Cassar on the Tower 51.

See how I consider 50 to be a bit of a telephoto, and 35-40mm is closer to "normal" for me, this is pretty depressing. How will I ever achieve balance? Hmmmm.

An old friend of mine, recently deceased, when the family went through his stuff had over 300, and that was just the leica 50's.

All the decades I knew him, he kept saying, "shushhh, ! - don't tell the wife !!!!!
