Ignore It (It'll go away)
I like the 50 fl, as well. Somehow, and all of a sudden (literally), I have six—in ltm & M mount—and none slower than f2. As the earlier 'Canon 1.4 vs. 1.5' thread elucidated, you can never have enough 50's.

50's collect in the corners like dust bunnies.
50/2 Summicron Collapsible
50/3.5 Elmar
50/2 Jupiter 8
50/1.5 Jupiter 3
50/2.5 CV Skopar
50/2.8 Industar 61 L/D
50/2.8 Industar 26
It's weird. I have a CV 35/2.5 and a CV 90/3.5. They displaced my Elmar 90/4 and Summaron 35/3.5 and I am not looking around anymore.
But in 50's, I can't settle on one. Even now, a nice Canon 50/1.8 would tempt me, weird filter size and all.

I've got a
.50 Thompson Center
.50 Remington 700ML
.50 Montana Rifle Works
unless you are talking about camera lens.
then I have
Contax Mount
CZJ f1.5 (2)
J-8 f2.0 black
Canon LTM
1.8 Chrome
1.8 Black
Nikon SLR
1.8 AIS
1.8 Series E
1.4 AI'd
Canon SLR
1.8 FD
1.8FD
Pentax 42mm Screw Mount SLR
1.4 Super Takumar (2)
Olympus SLR
1.8 Zuiko
Bronica ETRS SLR
f2.8 Zenzanon-PE
Plus I have some 55mm f1.8 Pentax Screw mount for Mamiya, 55mm f2.8 Micro AIS in Nikon and 58mm Topcon for a Super D.
One is not enough, I guess. I haven't figured out how to shoot more than two on a camera at the same time, yet.

Haha, I have the same problem---too many "normals;" and to make matters worse, I just bought another 50mm off e-bay. :bang:
How many '50's is enough?
How many did they make...

Being new to RF, I only just now bought my second Nikkor 5.0cm to make sure both my S2 and R2S are each so equipped.
Meanwhile, back in SLR land, I just got another 50mm Nikkor to do the same and avoid swapping-out b/w the vintage F3 and equally vintage FT-3 that otherwise would have to share the same lens. Heaven forbid!
My guess is that you have to have at least as many 50's as compatible bodies plus one. After all, not only is is a great all-purpose lens - it makes for one heck of a sexy body cap!

Speaking of 50's, I just shot a roll of film with a 1963 50 1.4 Takumar on a Pentax Spotmatic that I had CLA and refurbished. It was the camera I started in Photography in 1963. The negs are drying but they really look good. I think I forgot how good that 50 1.4 Takumar was.

Joe,
I like the way the silver looks on the camera better than the black one. I doubt that that is a good way to judge a lens. I have not done a definitive test on them to compare yet. I'll try to compare here in the next couple of weeks.

Wayne: You only have one Zuiko 50? Major tsk tsk! There were at least five versions of the 1.8, three (more?) of the 1.4, and at least two of the 1.2, two iterations of the macro 3.5, and then there is the macro 2.0. I'm not sure if there was more than of the 2.0 macro.
Obviously, you have some pent up GAS.

I dearly want a 50 or even a 65 for my RB67. But yeah, I could make use of a 90. It's strange looking at the world through a 180 all the time. Many people shots I've not been able to get far enough away.
