We will leave for our summer holiday next Friday and I am still planning.
For sure I will take:

- FED-3b with I61 L/D and J12
- Minolta Hi-Matic F
- Zenit EM (with several M42 lenses)
- EOS 350D (with a bunch of lenses)
- Kodak DX7440 (as my p'n's)

And since I now have a BLIK attachable rangefinder, I might also take either
- Adox Golf 63 (Medium Format)
- Zeiss Ikon Voigtländer 500AE
or and old Franka

I might bring my Canon FTb QL with a Soligor C/D 28-105, just for the fun of it.


So, how many do I take? Too many, I guess. But I can't help it. 😉
 
Just back from a ten day trip by plane- brought 2 M7's, 28/35/50 lenses and a Contax T2 for snaps. Worked out great. I shot the 35 a lot more than I usually do, only popped on the 28 a few times. Now for the films. Much film to run, but rain forecast for the next three days.
 
I just had a 10 day vacation,don't ask me how I did it!
The first two days were spent in Annapolis, Maryland.
I took Nikon S2 and Nikon S3 plus 2.8cm f3.5,3.5cm f1.8, 5cm f1.1 and 105mm f2.5 plus Nikon FM3a equipped with 35cm f4.5...it was a good kit,Oh not to forget, my daughter had her 10 MPixel Casio too.
During the last eight days in Florida, I chose not to drag the SLR(flying rather than driving) and just used the Nikon RF kit above.
I have seven rolls of 24 to show for it 😉

I'm leaving soon for a seven day trip to Oxford MS and the Delta Blues country. Traveling light since I'm flying commercial. I plan to take:

20 rolls of 120 Neopan 400

Mamiya 7 with 50mm & 80 mm lenses

20 rolls of 35mm Neopan 400

Contax G with 21mm Biogon, 28mm Biogon and 45mm Planar.

If I decide that's too heavy a load while packing, I'll leave all the 35mm stuff at home and just pack 30 rolls of 120 film for the Mamiya 7.

No, I won't shoot all the film. I just hate the thought of needing to conserve film because I'm in someplace where I can't buy it.

An RF of choice.

Lenses are really the big deal for me, as I like what each of them does in their best
use.
 
On my last trip (3800+ km), I took four cameras:

* OM-1n w/ 50/1.4, 28/2.8 * Vivitar 2x Macro
* Olympus 35SP
* Olympus 35RC
* Toyo 4x5 w/ Fujinon 150 & Fujinon 90

The only thing I did not use was the Fujinon 90. I could have if I had not be working so much with the 35mm gear. Of the 35s, I could have left the RC behind; not because it's not a great camera, but it sorta duplicates the 35SP. In substitution I could have taken a 100mm or 200mm lens for the OM. There were a few times when I could have used a bit more reach, especially when the loons were nearby.
 
Wife's Nikon coolpix 4500 and my Ricoh GR1 if travelling by air, if driving in Europe probably Olympus E510 DSLR and two kit zoom lenses as well.
 
One body, four lenses, a flash, extra batteries and a handful of film.

25 Biogon, 35 cron, 50 lux, 75 lux.
Holga 120 Mini flash
Usually a dozen or so rolls of 400 and 1600 ISO film.

That's my personal kit that I take with me when travelling. I feel prepared for anything. I often travel with the intent of photographing where I go, and having that group of equipment in a compact bag allows me to walk around and enjoy where I am, there's no concern about what body to bring with me or anything. Because it's just one option. Simple is the best solution.
 
Whenever leaving the house, I personally carry no less than 43,000 cameras and lenses, cross-referenced and marked with a Dymo label maker for ready reference.

I went to Florida with Nikon S3, Nikon S2, 35 1.8, 50 1.1, 105 2.5 and the daughter's 10MP Casio 😱

Planning a trip to Prague next year, and plan to take what I use around home: Nikon EM and FE bodies w/ 24-70 Tamrom zoom and 50/1.8 Nikkor, with shades and UV filters on each. About 15 rolls of CN film - 400 speed for outdoors, and 1600 for indoors. Also extra bodies. Not a lot of film, you say? I tend to shoot very selectively - just my style, probably influenced by Ansel Adams' careful selection of his subjects.

Stick to the topic, why doncha. It's not about how many you carry whenever you leave the house, it's about how many you carry when you travel on a long trip. Jeezzzz some people....
