How many Leica M's do you have?

Hi to everyone,

Well, currently I have only one Leica M body. It is an M4-P That is virtually mint. I bought it beceause it has a brass top couver, like the MP, and I really don't miss the meter. I have had various M bodies in the past, including an M6, both black and chrome, M6-ttl, and in the last years, my M4-P. Having more than one body is not necessary for me. The reason is that I have never had an M body break or become unusable. I like to travel light, and find the weight of an extra camera body too much. Usually, I bring the M4-P and 3 lenses. Most times, after arriving at my location, I select which 2 lenses i will carry that day, and put the camera with lens and one additional lens in the Bare Bones camera bag. That way I can walk about all day without too much weight. Sometimes I also carry my Gitzo Carbon fiber tripod, but most times it is the camera and lens only. I have never missed carrying a second body and used the money from my second body to towards the purchase of my 50mm Summilux Ver 2.

Over the last few years, I find that I am almost always taking the M4-P, and leaving medium format, or SLR cameras at home.

I guess I will be putting my other camera equipment up for sale soon, as it simply is not being used that often.

I only have 1 Leica (MP). I've bought and sold many cameras in the past, but my MP (also, my first Leica) is staying with me til the end.

I would like to buy another Leica, an M4 for the time being, but eventually would like to buy another MP. My MP is the standard Chrome/.72x, but I would like a BP/.85x

Then you might want to purchase another one, like me. Currently I have one M3 DS and one M6 classic (used to have 2, just sold one when my M3 arrived). I thought that 2 cameras and 3 lenses (35-50-90 Crons) are all that I need but now I am waiting for my next combo M2+50/2 DR. Oh, I've become a gears-addicted I guess. That's bad, no?

Interesting turn out. I had a hunch that most people would have around 2 Leica M bodies. Should save up money for my next one to join the crowd.

Me too -- I had an M2 (w/M motor conversion) and M5, but sold them both to get the M9. Haven't regretted it.

This is the first time I have seen 3 stacks of M2s, really impressive, Tom! This past year I sold 2-M4s, 1-M4P and 2-M6s. I now have a M7, MP and M8.2. I should have kept the M4P. Jim
