How much for an M2 that needs CLA?

I went to a local camera shop today and spotted an M2 behind the counter. I asked to see it, and right away they told me that the shutter speeds were way off. I checked it out, and the finder and everything else looked nice and clean. I would say the camera was a solid 8 or 9 cosmetically, only showing a couple signs of use. It did have an engraving as well (professionally done, if that matters). I asked how much they wanted and I was kinda surprised to hear them say "make an offer." I didn't want to make any stupid decisions so I told them I'd think about it. I'm half interested in the camera, if I can get it for a decent price (factoring in CLA) I might pick it up. So whats the going rate for a camera like this? My initial thought was in the $350 range, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance for any help.

Go with $350~$400. How is the finder? If separation is present, you could be in for more serious repair. Test the film advance and the rewind mechanism. The CLA is going to run ~$200. But if it runs into parts, the price can jump up. Getting a good operations M2 in 8~9 condition for ~$600 is well worth it.

My M2 had been sitting for a while when I bought it and also had slow shutter speeds.
I sent it to Youxin Ye for a CLA, who is very reasonable.
I agree, if you could get it for even 400. you'll still do very well adding in a CLA.

Those $350-400 prices sound about right. When in Europe make that Euro instead of $.

sometimes they just need exercising to get them limbered up again. i'd budget about 250 usd for a good cla and shipping. let us know how the offer goes.
