There may be a surplus of M6's on the market, because of the recent introduction of the M8. It seems that Leica M fans have been trading in, or selling their M6's to finance the M8 purchase. When I was in Paris 2 weeks ago, at the Leica store, the salesperson mentioned that there were a lot of M6's available now.
You might keep it, and wait for the surplus to work off of the market. Then the only competion for the M6 will be the MP which is currently over $2,600 (much more new).

The consensus seems to be that right now I'll never get the money I invested back, that's what I thought after I browsed the ads here on RFF and eB*y.
Therefore I'll try hard to keep this camera, which I find just wonderful by the way.
To close the discussion I must say that I find Gerry Smith a super technician to deal with, my experience with him has been very positive. I called me at home before I sent the camera to Kindermann to discuss about the CLA, he called me back when he had it in hand, and the turnaround was only two weeks! The M6 came back home in perfect condition, I had never seen a clearer viewfinder before, and the mechanics are now buttery smooth. Impressive job.
