I need to sell a camera that is adding some "weight" to my collection. As this is my second 7, I would rather have the money or trade for a lens or something else. Does anybody have a clue what a user quality Canon 7 is going for these days? The camera has minor cosmetic dings on the lens especially. The plastic in front of the meter is cracked at the edges. The meter does not work. The shutter curtain has small wrinkles that don't effect speeds. All speeds seem to work fine but I haven't had it CLA'd. The lens is the Canon 50/1.8, black ring. I don't want to go to the 'bay with this one.

Check our FS ads, one sold last week, working meter in very good condition, without lens for $185 I believe. That was a pretty good price for a Canon 7 with working meter, but something to consider.

I'd have to agree with that being an exceptionally good price for the buyer. For yours, meter inop, cosmetics ok, and a 50/1.8 I would (if I wasn't utterly broke to the point of selling some of my cameras... 🙁 ) be willing to pay ~$300. Just another point of reference, but do keep in mind I'm a cheap bottom feeder generally.

Thanks,

I was thinking around $300-325. I would think that maybe sooner or after everybody has spent their Christmas dollars I'll sell her off. I was also thinking about trade, too.

$300? Just trying to help out here: other faster Canon lenses can be found for that, sometimes less. I guess it depends on the condition of the lens; if it's absolutely immaculate and has all the caps, I think so.

Otherwise, I see KEH has a "bargain" rated one for $149; their ratings are rather conservative, and for lenses it usually means there is some sort of cleaning mark on it.
