How often do you use the camera in your cell phone?

I voted for the bottom one. I don't have a cell phone. Do men use them?

I use it, and i like it! A 2 megas camera doesn't go far about quality, but it's very handy to have. I actually have some pictures that i like, and were only possible because the wide angle "lens" and the discretion that the phone camera provide!

But I hope i'll change the phone camera for a zeiss ikon soon.. 🙂

I have a Fisher Price cell phone. It only takes pictures of giraffes and lions and elephants, for some reason. And no one gets my messages, either.

I use it for notes on the occasions where I forget my note taking camera (fuji z1) Ill only use it if I think it may be worth going back to, but I hate the thing and would be happier with one that does calls and texts only.

I don't live in a cell, so I don't have a cell phone. I've occasionally thought of attaching an old wooden crank phone with a separate mouthpiece, earpiece and two bells to the side of my 1890s wooden 11x14" camera.

I use mine almost everyday. I have a mobile blog where I would send pictures and text from my phone. The lack of quality forces me to make up for it with content and caption. My phone also has a flash. I can't take a camera with me all the time so this is better than nothing. Here are a few examples from my phone:

I don't even remember what life without a cell phone was like, how did we ever function? Besides the radiation, the government tracking, jack bauer being able to triangulate your position and the fact that one day cell phones will be self aware and lead a revolt to get back at human kind, but It's so convenient, it's almost worth it.

I take and send cell phone pics all the time to my friends. I mean it's not like anyone is really going to print cell phone pics or hang them in a gallery. They're a novelty and they're fun to use, stop being so snobby about it.

I use the phone cam to capture info about the photos I take with the real camera - street, bridge, river name, etc. And, to take photos of my daughter that become the background on my phone's display

Who's being snobby? I quite like cel phone photos. It's the phone part of them I don't like!

Only by accident... and it's not being snobby at all; I just don't ever think about it until an accidental photo appears. Worse, I don't even know how I'd copy a photo off the phone and onto the computer (I'm not subscribed to any phone data services).

I used to have a Sony K750 (which had a decent 2 megapixel AF camera module) that I used quite a lot. Then eventually I started to have trouble taking my phone into certain installations where photography was forbidden. The Sony phone then was stolen, and now I use a Nokia business phone that doesn't come with a camera. I find I don't miss the camera all that much, so it must have been rather non-essential. Most of the time I carry a compact Panasonic digicam which isn't much bigger than the phone anyway, so it's really only a question of carrying an extra device or not.

I use the camera in my mobile phone all the time, but not to take photos in the conventional sense. Rather, I use it to photograph train timetables, bus timetables, maps, directions, addresses, phone numbers etc. to save myself the trouble of writing all that stuff down. Very convenient !!!

I have one with the camera - not because I need it, but rather because it's hard to find a phone without one.
It's hardly usable for making stealthy pictures in public places - sound of shutter is louder than my Bessa

You should be able to turn the sound off, as I did on all my digitals. That makes it stealthier.
