how old are you?

Pink Floyd fan too... and just old enough to have been to one of their concerts. Prefer the later albums (Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell).

Speaking of such things, any of you PF fans heard of the marthon effort to shoot the cover for Momentary Lapse of Reason?

Stu :)

Haven't heard of that backalley.

I caught Pink Floyd when they played at the Rice University stadium here in houston about 9 years back. In the middle of the show it started raining hard with lots of lightning. The lightning was a nice backdrop against the lasers and such. Unfortunately too much water amassed on the stage and they had to quit in the middle. Then when we were leaving we were nearly crushed into the side of the shuttle bus by the impatient pushing crowd. Thems were the good ole days.

Like I said, I'm 47, but I'm not the 47 year-old member here with a 29 year-old wife. Darn!

Description

Drawing on footage from four concerts at London's Royal Festival Hall (one from June 2001, three from January 2002), this footage features David Gilmour performing material that spans his entire career. Beginning with Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," we subsequently find Gilmour interpreting two Syd Barrett songs ("Terrapin" and "Dominoes"), a performance from Bizet's opera "The Pearl Fishers," a few more Floyd tunes, and a selection of solo Gilmour delights. Rick Wright, Robert Wyatt and Bob Geldof make surprise appearances, and the whole performance is cemented by a stunning gospel choir lead by Sam Brown.

34.

Pink Floyd? Elvis? Hmmm, not my kind of music at all. Give Metallica's Black Album any day. Or Credence Clearwater Revival. Or ZZ Top. Or Blur, 10 CC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Supertramp, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Beatles, Billy Holiday, Led Zeppelin, Dick Dale, Vivaldi's 4 Seasons, Robert Palmer (and ELP), Mozart's Figaro to just name a few.... :)

Anyone likes Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Depeche Mode and Eurythmics? :) I am a child of the 80s!

Oh dude, I used to love Duran Duran (damn, now I have 'The reflex' on my mind...) and Eurythmics. Was never into Depeche all that much. I do remember buying a Spandau Ballet album. Yes album. Vinyl :) - and a few ELO, Alphaville, etc albums ;)

I was also into Bruce Springsteen and consider "Nebraska" to be the best album he ever did - closely followed by "Darkness on the edge of town".

Another child of the 80s I see! Yes! Alphaville, Bruce Springsteen are some of my favourites. On top of those I mentioned, there are U2, Police/Sting, Genesis, Robert Palmer and Pet Shop Boys! :)

Bad flash backs to my college days Peter. I have settled down and now enjoy Jazz, look up Charlie Hunter if you are interested, but I still have a wild streak and listen to modern rock when I can find a good station on the radio.

More 80's child! I have settled down too and into classical music and Mozart's opera. My favourite is The Magic Flute and Don Giovanni. But I would not mind to have a look at the 80s MTV collection once in a while! :)

Peter,

I love Sting.

Rover,

I like Charlie Hunter. Very Nice. Anyone here like John Coltrane and Miles Davis?

Anyone here is into European films?

Max

I'm 43. My kids make me feel older than that, though.

I am old enough to have known what a jerk the incumbent was when this fellow ran against him. Unfortunatley I was not old enough to vote.

Hi Maxy and welcome. If you're as old as you feel, tonight I'm 142. Tomorrow though, I'll still be 45.
