how old are you?

Hello,

I don't really like digital cameras so I shoot with film. I have a Rolleiflex TLR 3.5E, and Canon AE-1. I used to also have a Rollei 35SE. Currently I am thinking of either a Contax IIA or maybe a Leica IIIF.

You clearly are wise beyond your years.

;)

I've been ignoring this thread;l don't know why, just have. So, time to tell.

I'm 52 but don't act it. Having a 4 year old and a 2 year old probably has something to do with it.

I agree with Joe's previous response....

Russ :bang:

Well, at age 47 with a 6-year old (and an extremely high-maintenance one) I really enjoy my Kid. A weekend couped up in the house without getting to the playground, I GET REALLY CRANKY! Spent today at a fall festival going down the giant slides, hay-ride, etc, all caught with the Canon 7.

I will never understand how young parents take a cell-phone or book to the playground and just let the kids entertain themselves. I suppose it is a lot easier to appreciate being young when you have been through it completely.

No Joe,
The "Canonator" is safe in a drawer with a metal body cap terrorizing a few Nikon F's and F2's. The camera that I got from Karen N. is my "shooter". Perfect exposure meter and just enough wear to not make me worry about a mont camera going down the hill with me.

Wow! I'm 44 years old, own many cameras and lenses, and yet not one picture of my kids. Oh wait......... I don't have any kids! Damn, I guesss I'll liquidate the college fund, and go buy a couple of Holga systems.....

Russ

Russ, That's funny. I just looked at my camera account and it is enough to pay for four years of college for Nikki.

Cameras been very, VERY good to me.

How Old Are You?

How Old Are You?

I'm old enough..

..to have had a Kodak Hawkeye as my first camera.

..to remember when the mail was delivered twice daily

..to have gotten the milk from the box on the front step in the morning

..to have collected Bazooka Joe gum wrappers for a free penknife

..to have pasted S&H Green Stamps into booklets for my mother

..to have helped my father test the TV tubes at the drugstore and replace the bad ones

..to have gone to a friend's house to watch Disney's Wonderful World of Color because we had black & white

Well, you get the picture ;)

Hmmm, I had to go next door to watch Sky King in B&W because we didn't even have a TV... :)

Wow, Russ' admitting to being 44. That's 4 years older than what he said last month. At that rate he'll age like me pooch
~ ; - )

Let's see ........
Watching Tom Terrific, Crusader Rabbit and Rags, drooling over Annette (YEAH Mickey!), rooting for Duke Snider (dem Bums), getting good at loading the film in the Brownie, rubbing those stinky Polaroid swabs over each pic to protect them, putting the 4 corner holders on each photo as I put them in the album (original hard-copy file)....
My kids are in their 30's, so I'm waiting to grandkids at a young 53.

And being glued to the TV for hours waiting for a Mercury on a Redstone Rocket to blast off; Beatles on Ed Sullivan; and saving all my money for an Instamatic 150 with spring motor and AG1 pop-up flash.

When my children were young, they would ask me to show them my dinosaur bite marks! They're now almost as old as I was then and I'm still only 61.

Kids........ Geeeez!
