i guess we'll know better when prices drop. things are much more appealing when they cost less.

I'm waiting for prices on an M8 to get down to ~ US$2000 (mint w/ box). Getting close, but not quite there yet. Until then I will keep shooting full frame images with my MP, not worry about IR filters, and scan the negs at 24 megapixels.

M8 for south of 2K USD is tempting but the X1 might be in the same price bracket. i wonder how the CMOS sensor will compare with the M8.

When the 8.2s start to slump I would be interested as a second body to a M9 (if I ever get one) with a fast 50mm for my 'short tele'. I would not shoot one as an only digi body as I want seamless FL integration with film bodies.
