How to adjust the curtain tension on a Leica II?

Hi

Please help !!!

I tried to adjust the curtain tension on a Leica II and now both curtains are
not tensioned😕 (I removed the two screws and have no any tension more)

Have I

1. first to cock the shutter?
2. then to tension the first curtain? How many turns?, Turning to the right or to the left?
3. Then to test the shutter?
4. If it works, to adjust the second curtain? To turn the screw to the left or to the right?

Tensioning the shutter of a II is difficult, because you need to have four hands.

First, tension both curtains by turning the scalloped screws until there is just enough tension to let the curtains run evenly. Of course, re-install the set screws to fix the tension.

Second, give the first curtain three extra turns and check if at 1/500 the shutter opens. If it does, test the shutter as follows.

Stick a piece of ordinary white paper on the window of your room that gives good daylight. Put a film in the body. Mount a lens on it. Make the following exposures while pushing the lens aperture against the white paper: 1/500 at lens aperture 2, 1/200 at 2.8, 1/100 at 4, 1/60 at 5.6 and 1/30 at 8.

Develop the film. If the shutter is fine, the negatives will show evenly and equally exposed frames. If not, the camera probably needs a CLA.
