HOW TO: Industar 69 on R-d1

i have just produced a detailed description of how to modify a industar 69 for use on a r-d1

thank you to the people who have given me tips on doing this. im not sure i have done exactly what you said to do, but the way i have done it seems to work fine

I bough recently on ebay, a industar-69 that was already modified for the R-d1, but this morning reading you description I open and forced more.. it very easy and now works better.. I think

I just bought an Industar 69 to modify it for my EP1. Do you have a rough idea of how much has to be filed (mm).

Hi Eduardo.

I followed Brian Sweeney's method of filing down the raised ring on the mount (where the lens helical screws into) instead of on the lens helical itself, this proved to be a little easier to do.
I removed about 1 millimeter with a dremel.

I checked infinity focus with a the lens screwed in as far as possible and shooting wide open.


the only downside I found to using it on the R-D1 is that you have no RF-coupling and the framelines definitely don't match 😉 You'll need something approximating an accessory VF for 42mm.

Hi Mr Flibble,

Nice shots with the little lens ¿on the RD-1?. Thanks for the information. I will follow your advice; just hoping it won't take to long for the lens to arrive from Rusia.

Since I will be using it on a EP1, no problem with the viewfinder and framelines.
