How to mount a prewar Summar on a Nikon D40

I'd love to know... has anybody managed it? I can get it to work for macros but would love to use it for normal shooting.

I'm thinking this is not possible and I should save for an M9...

Any tips?

Given that Nikon has almost the longest register distance in the industry, it won't be possible short of remounting the Summar glass in a Nikon (or worse, a shortened M39) barrel (or using a optical adapter - but these generally screw with the IQ).

Put it on a Sony NEX. Same crop factor as the D40, but it will actually focus to infinity.

oh well, that confirms my thoughts.
It'd be nuts to partially collapse it into the DSLR...

The NEX does look appealing.
