That's an interesting view. Of course, I disagree with it completely but peaceful coexistence is the thing...

I don't understand these articles, workshops and all the bs around street photography !
Go out use what you like and do what you like !
I just approach strangers, talk to them and point the Pentax 67 to their faces ! Sometimes they laugh, other times they think I'm some sort of professional !

Personally I'd back the advice in the replies here above the OP's piece when it comes to signal:noise ratio.

I am trying to be as discreet as possible and non intrusive. If i see that someone realized that i have taken his picture, i usually approach and speak to them. Sometimes i give them some printed cards with my blog and my email to contact me if they want their picture to be removed. I never had any problems whatsoever....

I like it when they try to ruin a photo... and add some mystique by pointing the sun at me with a mirror... 🙂

I agree that if the subject(s) think you're actually making a photo of something behind them, they're more likely to ignore you.

Websites code is still broken... Edit: Checked you code. Your css is bugged, check your "photo-wrapper" class, the issue lies there.

It could be that it's the local cache that's in the way... I need to adjust my caching methods... Thanks for letting me know though!

I want to thanks everyone for replying in this thread also of course everyone has their different opinions on street photography and candid photography or photographing strangers. My article is just my reflection, of what I think works best for me, that might also work for you. If you think not then that's fine.

The more I photograph, the more I realize that i should be honest to myself and honest to others. It's easy to say but not always easy to do. People know what you feel and your mood. Go out with bad mood not the best way to photograph unknow people. At such moments i train on cats 🙂
