How to remove the glue when recovering an R-D1?

To those who have recovered their R-D1's with Camera Leather coverings:
What works best and easiest to remove the glue to establish a clean base to lay the new cover in place?

I sucessfuly recovered my M2 with the suggested Camera Leather wet method, I'm just not familiar with the glue removal for that sticky gunk that gets all over the camera and hands when its hot out and you've been holding it awhile.

I appreciate any suggestions offered.

I removed the glue by repeatedly dabbing the rubber cover that I'd taken off onto the areas that still had adhesive on them. The glue on the cover was sufficient to adhere to the glue still in place. The glue is very tacky and will easily stick to itself. No other liquids were used, as the risk of them getting into the mechanism was too great.

You could also try pushing the glue around with your thumb to make a "wave" of adhesive that will gradually create a larger lump. This can then be peeled off.

You could try using a piece of duct tape. That's very tacky on the back.

That should help when you decide to re-cover your camera.

Nick and Mike, thanks for your input. I didn't think it would be a big deal because it hardly keeps the cover on anyway, nice to learn it is easier than I thought.
