how would one trace the original owner of a barnack

I would love to know the history of my II(D), which originally was a I from 1931. Leicashop told me it was upgraded in 1950, which matches the date of two of the lenses that the camera came with, but that's as much as I've been able to find out. I emailed Leica CS but didn't get a reply 🙁

Somewhere over at LUF I read that Leica fired their archivist.
