LOL rover, I'm going to do another tonight with the Konica family. I just realized I have a Konica I rangefinder, a little Konica C35 rangefinder, and their last digital camera I think the Z6. Going to do a family portrait.

I have a Konica I too. It's been in the family since my dad bought it new in Japan in 1950 something.

I have the Konica II somewhere...the black C35rf is sitting on my desk keeping my monitor company..

How's the weather down your way??

Hiya Colyn, I used to live in Texas. It got too hot for me. Not in a criminal way but actual heat. There was this one time in a Border town once that I'm not allowed to talk about.

Here in Washington it's cold, like 8 degrees. I bought me a border collie puppy the other day and had to dig her out of a snow drift. All I could see was her little sad eyes pokin' out of the snow. You ever sell that Konica II I may be interested, they are nice little cameras.

Glory, but both are pretty to me. Ok, I've been a Canon geek since day one, but, still, I'd love a nice IV, like that one 😉 , to hang my Serenars on... 🙂

I need a nice IVSB2, 7SZ, F1n & an EOS A2E to go with my FTBn & T-90 as my "greatest hits" collection 😱

William

Don't follow, Doug. Who made the black body?

[P.S.] Is that a grand-daddy tom in the avatar? Huffy sort of chap, full of himself.

Cold. Nasty. Wet. I live close enough to work that I was able to get in yesterday. In fact, it was great. No traffic at all.

Sorry for being obtuse... The black camera crudely labeled Contax used to be a chrome camera labeled Kiev made in the Ukraine. It didn't work very well, shutter problems, and perhaps poor looking as well, so it was selected for a paint job and an image boost for a better sale price.

The avatar is Ruff as a kitten, and since then he's grown long and leggy, and advanced socially to be assistant Boss Cat in our 5-feline household. Full of himself, indeed! 🙂

Yes, Doug, a more than cursory look does show how crude is the labelling. Shutters were always the weak point with Contaxes, and perhaps with Kievs too. Not nearly so weak as the even more "advanced" Ektra, though.

Assistant Boss Cat is high in officialdom. My apologies if I bruised Ruff's ego by pointing to it. Doesn't young Dennis Mitchell have a canine buddy with the same name?

I knew it was a fake when I bought it, and the seller was up-front about that too. To me there's a certain charm about an obvious fake... like this Kiev, and like a fake British Webley revolver poorly made in some shop in Afghanistan. Though a well-done fake that might pass for original can be a serious problem for collectors.

Yes, the Menace's dog is the source of our Ruff's name, at least as far as I'm concerned! As shaggy, but speaks Cat instead of Dog. Resembling the Maine Coon breed, he has a distinct neck ruff, and my wife calls him "Ruffles".

Your current cute avatar looks like an innocent young pup...🙂
