HP5+ & Tmax Dev & 26°C

Thanks again to all who chimed in.

I did a test run today: five frames on a strip of HP5+ exposed at -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, developed for 5 minutes in 1+4 TMAX Developer at 26° C. All the frames seemed a little too dense, but the 2 stops under exposed frame was pretty close. Interestingly, my scanner didn't care and all five scans look more or less the same.

This test got me thinking about another factor that I think could affect the result: developer exhaustion, or in this case lack there of. I used only a short strip of film, as opposed to a longer 24 or 36 frame strip, which if I understand correctly would exhaust the developer less over the course of the developing time. Could this difference in film strip length and less than normal developer exhaustion lead to a slight over development?
