HU!! Canon 50/0.95

The value of the Canon 50/0.95 seems to me to be entirely generated by forums like this one. I frankly don't understand the longing for this lens. Back in the day I picked one up at Olden in NYC for very little money (it didn't have a great reputation). The contrast and resolution was poor IMO and even though cheap was unwieldy and didn't hold a candle to my Nocitlux 50/1.1 and was sold off quickly. Fool that I am I also eventually sold the Noctilux to my perpetual regret - that is a lens worthy of love.

I'm intrigued by the lens--and have been following prices. Sure, I'd prefer a Noctilux, but I don't have the extra $4,000-plus for a used one.

That has been the general opinion of the lens until recently. If you get one that is in good condition and adjustment, I think the results will satisfy most people - if they can overlook the coma and halation.
