HU: Canon LTM 35/2 $199

Thank you Boris. The lens is not "rare", so even if the aperture mechanism is messed up, he may be able to find spare parts, I hope.

Can't be to difficult a problem to fix Raid, congrats on the purchase. Great little lens!

Thank you, Johan. I once owned a "never used" Canon 35/2 that I sold like that, and I have never used such a lens so far. This purchase is to finally allow me to use such a lens.

I already have a Canon 35/1.5, 35/1.8, and 35/2.8. The 35/2 will make my "set" more complete. If the 35/2 gets repaired, and if the posted reports on this lens are true, then this could become a lens that I will often use.

Might be a good deal unless it needs some obscure part that only a donor lens can provide.

FWIW, the IQ's of the f2 and f1.8 are largely identical, except, of course at f1.8 where there is a marked loss of sharpness. But with a shorter focus throw (sans infinity lock!) and lighter curb weight, the f2 is an overall better lens IMO.

Hope it turns out well for you.

I mostly liked the 35/2.0. Very good image quality, even wide-open. What I didn't like was the build quality, the focusing action and aperture ring on mine always felt excessively loose. Also, the bokeh, wide-open, exhibited the "donut effect," which I didn't like. But f you want a sharp, small and light LTM 35mm lens, this is it.

Jim B.
