HU: Canon ltm lenses

I have a Canon 28mm/3.5, and I initially bought it with the intention of eventually selling it, but I like it so much that I am keeping it. It is a little gem.
I also love my Rokkor 28mm/2.8 but I am trying to sell it to get an M6 camera.

Got my Canon P for $300 in the US, but still looking for a Canon 28--there seems to be a lot of disagreement about whether the 2.8 or 3.5 Canon is the best. Gandy says the late, BLACK 3.5 is good, but hard (impossible) to find.
Any further advice?

I actually bought the Canon 35 f2 off John a couple of weeks ago ...... nice lens and in beautiful condition!

🙂

The 35/2 is a very good lens but gives a slightly more "modern" look to the pics.If you are after an older look, perhaps not the lens but difficult to beat for performance. If the VI-L sells, my 35/2 is going in the classifieds alond with the 50/1.4 and 100/3.5.

The Canon 100/3.5 takes 34mm threaded filters. Not impossible to find, but like a suitable hood, may take a little shopping around.

G'man got me hood that fits the J-3 and the J-12 so I know it won't be impossible to find something. It'll be a bitch, though. So I can do a size comparison, what's the filter size for the 100/2?

Kim: Oh. Well that makes stuff easier. Last lens I need to make a complete set of lenses to fit the framelines of the P. If it's a Series VI adapter, I have a Series VI hood. 😉

58mm for the 100/2. (A usfull page to bookmark http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/lens/f_lens.html);)

As far as the 100 is concerned, it has proper case, finder (altough there are lines on the P) and there is a Canon series VI screw ring and and independant clamp one. The genuine 100/3.5 hood is somewhat difficult to find although Joe managed it I think. Can't remember who had it from him, I missed it.

I'd almost rather be able to use a Series hood because then all my filters would fit. It isn't really necessary, but it sure does save money.

There may be, but Japanese shops generally don't sell outside the island and shopping trip to Japan to buy a lens could be quite expensive--worse than going to Las Vegas due to the high price of everything.
