About 1600 black body Nikon sp produced out of 22,000
Motor drive is fairly scarce as is modified camera to accept motor . 1150 made
Well used is understatement here .
Still it will sell high .

Will not ship "outside USA" normal for sellers not wanting to falsify the customs declaration, or not used to modern payment systems...I would not buy from these people.

I'm puzzled why it went so cheap. Wasn't that a real S36?
And patina should be a plus.

both the body and motor were VERY worn
there was apparently no back for the SP
There is no indication that this is a working motor.
They are hard to fix and spare S36 parts are non-existent.

Use to be the S36 was worth 3 grand by itself, add battery pack and one had to fes up $5k
That being said, this is one of the roughest cameras I have ever seen, somone really tried to run that one into ground but as usual, the owner gave up or the camera ran the owner into ground...

With regard to the rough and extensive wear, I'd like to know the history or 'provenance' of that camera. It must have belonged to a press pool or to a dedicated and hyperactive photojournalist. Perhaps omebody well-known?

For those who are not in the USA, here's how shipping outside the USA usually works:
1. walk into post office, see a long line
2. locate kiosk with several different customs forms, no indication of which is needed for which shipping method or destination
3. guess which customs form you need
4. fill out customs form
5. wait in line for 20 minutes
6. snarky/disgruntled postal employee tells you that you filled out the wrong form
7. fill out correct customs form
8. wait for a counter to open up, drop off and pay for shipping
So, I can't blame anybody for not wanting to ship internationally.

I agree, the US postal system is just as stone age as is US money system with checks.. ( We keep your check for one week to clear, in reality they have the same computers as in europe but they sell your money for interest gain for one week) I have done a bit ebay selling to USA Most complain about the cost of shipping: I usually say: Go to www.usps.com
the rates are there, just check USA>Finland. It is the same rate both ways OOH. I checked ! There is now online checking and print labeling, wow looks like modern times...

If there was such a thing, it could have added to the value of the camera kit, say if it was one of Life Photographer's press camera.
But it could have very well been some sport photo's camera or even worse, a wedding Photographer's camera...who knows?
Without such records and "provenance", it's not a collectors piece, mainly because of it's rough condition and apparent heavy use, who knows how many parts have been modified or replaced, repaired....A collector may collect such a camera only if there is a history behind it, otherwise, they would not be interested in a camera like this, would not touch it wth a ten foot pole.
I don't think Patina alone adds to a camera's value.

Well, my friend who lives in florida says it is the only way to send money out of USA. bank transfers don`t usually work internationally.
Bank transfers work perfectly fine internationally -- much easier than checks. When I lived in Spain I was always moving money around to/from the US. An international wire costs about $50 and takes about a week if you count both sides of the transaction. By comparison, if you used a check the bank lady would stair at you funny, shrug, and say, err, maybe about a month, maybe more?
Your friend is probably getting confused between an ACH transfer (not possible) and one that involves SWIFT codes (the way it is done).
