Leica M Recidivist
Ten years from now, I am more worried about (1) my vision, (2) how available film and processing will be and (3) whether anyone will still be doing good mechanical work on these cameras after Sherry, Don and the other few retire, than I am about the life span of a CdS cell. (BTW, had my CL's cell replaced a couple of years ago by Sherry.)

So Randy,
Are you sure the comment wasn't more like "wow, that's a cute little camera there, along with that cute man purse you have there, reminds me of the one my grandpa had, before he left my grandma to go to San Francisco, perhaps you know him?"

vrgard said:Perhaps, Ted. But c'mon, 10 years? I guess I'm just not too concerned about having to have the meter adjusted and/or repaired again in 10 years. Heck, I should probably do a CLA again then anyway. So it's not as robust as other M cameras. That's nothing new. It's still the smallest M mount camera going. And besides, the very cute waitress in that great little beachside restaurant in Lahaina Maui even commented on it when she spied it sitting on the table by saying, "Wow, cool camera!" Isn't that alone worth something?![]()

You may be right, Ted, but at my age I accept any compliment I can get from a cute young girl.

Randy,
Here's a true story:
After getting my 28/2.8 Biogon and VCII meter on my M4P, I headed out for some coffee, and my barista said, "wow, what an awesome camera! Would you mind taking a photo of me with it?" I hesitated, not wanting to interrupt her work or my coffee needs, but ended up obliging:

and btw, that camera and lens is in the classifieds right now...
