Hi,

another item from the very strange world of collectors: #280083315156 on the auction site. Leica M2 dummy, obviously not functional, three days left, currently at 405 EUR or US-$ 532.

Note that you could get a functional M2 for this money instead.

OK, now the dummy has been sold for EUR 580 = $763. Quite a bit of dough that collectors are willing to shell out for a nonfunctional camera...

Incidentally, within two hours of the dummy, two "normal" M2s were sold for EUR 321 and EUR 406 respectively, the latter with a functioning Leicameter MC (that's $422 and $535, auctions #120086337644 and #110093632589), putting the sum even more into perspective.
