HU: Olympus ACE on dutch eBay

:O never heard about this camera! I will google it. It looks extremely to my taste (i talk about the looks only, i.e. the unrounded corners and such) however the 45/2.8 lens is not so tempting...

I've been tracking eBay auctions for the Ace and lenses. On the ePay dot com (US) site, I think they're going for too much money given the lack of information on how they actually perform and the likelihood that every example I've seen would need a CLA.

That said, I'm still tempted. My guess is the lenses were pretty good performers for their day, (produced in the late 50s, so I don't expect modern design and coating), and with the right film might be pretty decent.
 
Noel: I've seen some sample shots that looked promising, but as photos they weren't anything interesting, pretty much just grab shots, so it's hard to tell.
 
I noticed that kit, and it's tempting. It's a lot to drop on an unknown quantity, at least for me.

I ment in theory - the Olympus design even with '50 glass was conservative, the Kodak Retinas used four elements.
