I just came across this looking for something else: heavystar now has Summicron-C-thread (S5.5) to E39 filter rings:

(I have no affiliation with heavystar).
I think it would also make a fine, small lens shade for everyday use
Nice to have another affordable solution to the dreaded Summicron-C-filter-thread-problem.
