Buy it before I do.

There goes another poor Nicca that`s bound for the orphan junkpile........., why didn`t he just sell the two together? a shame to seperate the original lens from the original camera body ~ that sucks!

Another HU: 105/2.5

Another HU: 105/2.5

Here is another great lens at good BIN price (275). A 105/2.5 with clean glass, rare hood, etc. 330317450624.

Roland.

Also, does that lens have the same performance as the nikkor 105/2.5 AI that I have for my Nikon FE2/FM2? That is a fantastic lens and I'd love the same on my Leica! I wonder how difficult framing is, however, given that its a bit in between the 90/135 frame lines.

There were several versions of the SLR 105/2.5.

The LTM one has the same optics as the early ones, it's a Sonnar design. 52mm filter size, like your SLR lens.

Framing is pretty accurate with 90mm lines. Just give it a tiny bit more room close up. The lens only focuses to 1.5m.

Cheers,

Roland.

Actually, I have the AI version. Looks just like this. Serial number 797851.

I love this lens, the pictures are great!

This is a shot from a canon 5d.

This is from a Nikon FE2. The glow on the film is caused by the lack of anti-halation layer on Lucky film.

Beautiful.

I have the SLR Sonnar version and also the LTM version.
This thread alerted me to the lens hood ... and I got an original for $8.75 plus shipping five minutes ago.

Thanks, Roland and others.

The 10.5cm F2.5 is a Sonnar design, optical formula was the same for the SLR lens up until 1973 or so. I find the Sonnar formula lens more pleasing. It is quite sharp.

Nikkor 10.5cm F2.5, wide-open on the Nikon S3:

Tight Crop:

At first, I thought this was a spec of dust.

Hmmm well after my MODIFIED M6 is back from Don, I think I`ll look for a f2.5/105, looks like that might flatter the gals as well......my "minty" SC f1.4/50 with caps and hood is now SOLD!

I will be covering all the Nikkor styles now with my *Banged & Battered* "Tokyo" #5005 f1.4/50 and my N.O.S. 57' "Japan" HC f2/50 that`s enough Nikkor glass for now, while I`m playing catch-up buying the WW2 era IIIC Grey cameras, I`ve always wanted, I hope to be adding two or three of them to my signature soon.....

Very fine Brian! ~ I`m sold, another great performer for close ups!

How is the 105 compared with the 85 for weight? ~ I`ve never used the 105 EVER!....... and the 85 I had was amazing glass but a "PAIN IN THE *SS TO USE" on any LTM camera and somewhat "balanced" on my M6 but still heavy!

Tom

The weight of the 105 is "about the same" as the chrome 8.5cm/2.

The 10.5cm/2.5 was introduced in Black.

back to Nikkor 5cm 1.4 - if $300 was underpriced - what is a "normal" price on one of these? How does it comapre to Summilux of the same era? Other 50mm 1.4 or 1.5 lenses?

It is similar to the Canon 50/f1.5 , but sharper at full bore and close up.
it also has veiling flare at f1.4 but goes away once it is stopped down a hair.
The OOF areas are not as nice as what you get with the Canon 50/f1.5 or the Zeiss Sonnar 50/1.5 or even a good copy of the Jupiter -3, they seem very harsh to my eyes.

If you get a Nikkor 5cm f1.4 lens, buy one with the most perfect glass you can find and afford.
