HU: Voigtlaender Super Wide Heliar converted for Contax G

If anybody is interested in a Super Wide Heliar converted to Contax G mount, here is one.

The shop is not too far away, actualy it is on my way to work, so I can check it out if anybody is interested. Up to now I've only stared through the window and he has some nice used gear.

I'm not related to the shop and have never dealt with them.
 
Would you know how it compares with the 16mm Contax G Hologon? I believe the Contax lens is slower...

The Hologon is fixed f8 and 1,680 Euro! But it comes with viewfinder, a hood and a center ND filter .
I think the Hologon is better corrected and may be sharper in the corners.
 
Fascinating! I'm assuming focus would be by guessimation, but would the meter in the camera be useable? Or is it just a matter of mounting it and running everything manually?

The Contax G has an external meter in case the TTL meter is blocked, as it is by the hologon. The rangefinder will work with any lens mountable or even without one since it doesn't depend on a lens. So you can use the rangefinder to measure distance but you have to set the lens manualy.

I'm pretty sure the TTL meter works with this lens since it is not as deep into the body as the Hologon, judging from the rear cap it is not deeper than the 28 Biogon.

you won't need a rangefinder for this lens, at 15mm with maximum aperture f4,5 you can guess the focus.

I have a 28mm Biogon and I am really thinking of getting a wider lens for my G. I'm often using the Nikkor 4/20mm on my SLR. The CV Super-Wide Heliar seems to be a cheap alternative for the Hologon. But I would rather go for a 21mm Biogon, you can get it for less than 599 Euros and 21mm is also very wide. And I would assume that the Biogon performs much better than the Heliar, and the Biogon is much faster.
