Soon I'll be looking for a nice G2 outfit that include G2 body and at least 45mm lens.
Will be entertaining offers for an outfit in at least excellent condition Mint also counts of course. Must be fully operational without any issues (mechancial/funcitonal), glass clean and clear.
Will consider a basic kit of body + 45mm lens (to save some $$ and the beginning) and get the feeling of G2, though additional lenses (28mm and 90mm) are also of interest.
Original hoods are desirable.

KEH prices may serve as a starting point..

International shipment is involved.

Thanks, Alex

Saw you were interested in a G2 outfit. I have a mint condition G2 Body with a 28, 45, and 90 all caps and hoods as well as filters for each. Also a contax flash 200. All boxs and manuals. Also paper work on adjustment and cleaning from Contax service.
Since only 5-8 rolls of film has gone through camera. Was hoping for $1200 for outfit. email me or post response.

Thanks David for your offer.
In fact, lately I was researching RF world and now leaning to the manual system, kind of Bessa R3A (M-mount). Besides, today I had a chance to try out G1 with 45mm Planar - overall good feeling in hand, but AF although no particularly sluggish but the decision phase is noticeably slower then these by Minolta and Canon SLR systems I used to. What really bugs me is focusing noise which reminded me the old days of Minolta AF I worked with in 90s, or probably G1 was even louder.
The dissapointment came also from the fact that even in manual focusing one cannot avoid the noisy focusing motor....
I really hope G2 is better in all that matter though...but right now I'm set to pursue manual focusing rangefinder route...

Thanks once again, Alex

the G2 is better, at least my G2 is better than my G1. The AF ist better than that of my Canon D60, too.

But you have to like it, if not you'll never be happy with a G.

As much as it kills me, I haven't used my G2 set for years. I moved to a Contax 645C with a kodak 16MP digital back about 3-4 years ago and aside from some travel use, the G2 has been shelved. Just a few weeks ago I took it to Canada for the change of seasons and shot various films- amazing clarity and colors.

It is a really nice chrome G2 with the cable release, the 16mm Hologon (yes- I actually bought one), the 21, 28, 45, 90 and the 35-70 zoom. It has the TLA 200 flash also.

The camera body shows some really minor wear marks, but the glass is perfect as are the lens barrels.

What would be interested in paying for this whole setup? I have (I believe) all the boxes, manuals, etc. still. The 21 & Hologon have their protective cases with viewfinders (the Hologon's viewfinder has a great built-in level).

If I can't sell the hologon, I'm thinking about having it converted to a Leica M mount. Amazing rectilinear lens.

Can't seem to find your email, David, but I'm posting with interest: PM me with your email and we can talk.

Thanks,

The G2 is really the best of both worlds. It focuses in almost complete darkness, has an excellent metering system, the motor can shoot 4 frames per second, and the lenses are razor sharp. I love my G2. It's a brick of a camera too. It's a little noisy, shoot it in noisy places. You will rarely miss a shot with this camera once you are used to it.
