I have this I 26m which I seldom use....too many 50's. So last night I decided to use it and I found some huge black flakes in the lens element. Looks like where the blades live. The body and coating are very nice but its stiff and clearly needs help.
Can I get at the dirt if I have no experience doing this? Can someone point me to a DIY link? Thanks for your help!!

Hi,
If you google Matt's Classic Cameras there is a great tutorial.
I cleaned down my I61 after reading this with ease.
I made a point of reading & re-reading the instructions, so there were no hidden nasties.
good Luck

Without a spanner wrench (quite expensive) I couldn't get at the glass itself although Matt's site was great for the lubing and cleaning of the body.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Ah,
I did not need to get to the glass. I had the usual gunky lube problem. Cleaned the thread down and used coppergrease to lubricate. Silky smooth, but a bit slow in colder weather. Glad it was of help.
