I am a working girl again.

nice to hear good news , after you posting some of your equipment to sell. Hopefully you now can hold onto some of the cameras you are attached to and not have to part company with them.

best wishes , Jan

and yes the term 'working girl' has a different connotation in urban areas and probably non urban areas also ... just don't catch customers off guard using that phrase on your first day!

"... i owe, i owe, off to work i go..." can't recall the melody name, but something to do with snowhite y los dwarves siete (7)...as i oft remark about - it beats the alternative - hang in there an best of luck...

hey, just try to enjoy it whatever work you do. Every job has something nice detail in it, find it and forget the rest! a cashier is at least as important as a president or a rocket scientist.
And, good luck with the learning curve of the sD IV.

I just hope i can report on a similar result soon. both the job and the scanner🙂

Good that the use of "working girl" was mentioned.

Now, Steph... see to take pics of yourself or others in front of that register. I see interesting possibilities in the kitchen...

Just ask for permission first! 🙂

Heh. I kinda disappeared after I posted this.

The boyfriend and I ended up going to Ames yesterday, but I got sick and we had to come home. I must have had food poisoning or something from the food I ate on Friday and it made me so sick that yesterday I was delusional. I woke up twice last night thinking that if I didn't find a certain camera for a guy that he'd kill me. I don't know why I actually remember it.

But anyway, about CIA. I'll be working towards going either late next year or early the next. Until then, I'm going to be working on getting the 6 months experience that I need and also working on my photography hobby. I'm hoping that I'll be able to amass a decent kit before I go so that I have something good to take with me; I will be spending time very, very near New York City after all. 🙂

Stephanie,

Cool! The CIA campus is pretty nice and they have at least one really good restaurant--staffed by the students! Downstate is good scenery as well and you'll be very close to the Hudson river. NYC will be a good day-trip from there. If you get a chance to visit where I am, give me a holler; at least I'll feed you and we can yak about cameras and stock pots or something. And it's been 10 or 15 years since I've poisoned anyone... 🙄
Rob

Good luck on the new job, Stephanie! You can meet a lot of new people at a cash register.. new boyfriend ( I read your blog 🙂 ), other photographers, employers etc....
