I am getting a CV 50 2 APO. Are you too?

I have asked 4 times so far in this thread about the lens hood. Which generic lens hood size is needed? [my 5th attempt here]

It's a 49mm thread, so there's a 49mm screw-in hood from 7Artisans for their 55/1.4 lens on flEaBay. Its AOV will match your new lens; other generic 49mm hoods seem to be for wide-angle or telephoto lenses. The great thing about the CV hoods is that they're bayonet-mounted, don't interact with the filter and stay put on the lens.

Here is a sequence of snapshots of my new lens!

Sorry about that! Missed the question. I bought the bayonet hood. 49mm should work great if you want a screw-in.

Congrats Raid, I'm sure seagulls at Joe Patti's are waiting to be photographed by you wuth youe new lens 🙂

Beside jokes glad you received it, now waiting for your images. Please post some, portraits included if your models allow it !

Nice, Raid and Tim Gray. I'm looking forward to getting mine. Thanks for the unboxing, Raid.

I still think the APO marks are ruinous. I might colour mine in with a wax pencil.

Ok. Now let's see that lens attached to an M body. I would like to see how big/ small it is relative to the body. I'm thinking about ergonomics...

I did not know that the lens hood had to be ordered at the same time as the lens. I may have many lens hoods in some camera bags, so I will look for one for 49mm to be used with a 50mm lens.

Thank you James. I placed an order for such a lens hood.
